Loyola University is probably going to be the best thing for me right now. I have an advisor, Dr. Burns, who I have become quite fond of. I have heard so many good things about him, emailed with him, and have yet to meet the man.
First, I met Professor Lisa Martin at work a couple weeks back. After I found out she was a professor at Loyola, we talked about my major and she told me I should look into having Dr. Burns as my advisor. After talking with her, she gave me her business card and wrote her cell phone on the back and told me I can text her anytime I need anything.
Second, I emailed Dr. Burns the day before orientation to ask him to be my advisor. He said he would be honored.
Third, at orientation everytime somebody would talk about Dr. Burns, they would say wonderful things about him.
Fourth, he was wonderful reviews on ratemyprofessor.com.
Fifth, I have already gone to him with a personal problem I have. I asked him for help finding a phychologist so I can get rid of this god damned depression I have been dealing with for years now. He is going to contact Dr. Alicia Bourque from Loyola’s Director of counseling and health services for me.
On my way to orientation. As soon as I walked pit the door and seen the sun, I know this is going to be a new chapter for me. It’s time I start being more responsible, saving money, and taking better care of myself. I need to get on better health. I wrote ‘did you job today Eric?’ on my door so I would start dong so more often. Since doing it 3 weeks ago. I’ve only been jogging once. I’m done with saying I’ll do these things. It’s time I get off my ass and get them done. The ferrys about to land on the east bank. Wish me luck today!! (:
